“Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience managing our most treasured places, along with the vision our parks need to thrive for generations to come." - Theresa Pierno, NPCA's President and CEO
Washington, DC – The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) applauds today’s appointment of Jeff Reinbold as CEO of the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. Reinbold brings more than three decades of public service expertise to the position, including his present role as superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks, and previously serving as the Park Service’s assistant director for partnerships and civic engagement. Reinbold also served as superintendent of five national parks in western Pennsylvania, including the establishment of Flight 93 National Memorial.
Statement by Theresa Pierno, President and CEO for National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA):
“As CEO of the National Park Foundation, Jeff Reinbold will play an essential role in protecting and preserving America’s 430 national parks. Throughout his more than 30 years’ experience with the Park Service, Reinbold has worked to safeguard some of our nation’s most solemn and historic places and has overseen critical projects to strengthen our parks, such as the renovation of Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument and reconstruction of the Tidal Basin seawall. His decades of experience have prepared him to take on this new role and tackle the many obstacles facing our parks, including impacts from chronic underfunding, mounting repair needs, worsening climate change and record visitation.
“Jeff is a proven leader when it comes to the protection of our parks. He brings a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience managing our most treasured places, along with the vision our parks need to thrive for generations to come. Above all, Reinbold understands the importance of developing partnerships and community. NPCA looks forward to continuing to partner with him, as both of our organizations work to ensure the best possible future for our national parks.”
