Greetings from Crater Lake National Park

Our visit to Crater Lake was in early June of 2016 and it was the halfway point of our 4000 mile trip from North Carolina to Oregon and back. We reserved an RV site at Collier Memorial State Park and we were not certain even as we arrived there, that we would be able to enter Crater Lake due to the snowfall they had. Fortunately, the second day we were camped the park rangers announced that the West Rim road had been cleared and was safe to travel! We made the trip up to the park and after parking our RV near the rim, we approached the observation point and feasted our eyes upon one of the most incredible sights we have ever seen! Tears welled up in our eyes and we stood astonished for a period of time. We will never forget this magical moment!

Sincerely,
Paul

Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake sits in a rugged portion of the Cascade Range and is famous for its deep, jewel-blue water. An impressive 20-mile ring of cliffs encloses the basin and adds to its magnificence.

“Since Yellowstone was established as our first National Park, past and present generations of people have been able to essentially experience our National Treasures as they were when first acquired! We all have shared these special moments in our own way! It is imperative that we preserve and protect our National Parks and Public Lands to ensure that future generations are afforded the same opportunity to enjoy the experience!”
