I recently returned from a nine-day backpacking trip in the Yosemite wilderness, where I conducted environmental field research with NatureBridge educators and eight other high school students. While the 50-pound packs posed a challenge, I had the time of my life. We sang songs, dipped in lakes, and laughed at stories around a campfire, being careful to “leave no trace”. Looking up at the moonlit sky from my sleeping bag, I let my thoughts roam free. I have always been fascinated with the outdoors and with nature. Yosemite gave me the opportunity to revitalize parts of my personality, connect with others, and #run, #play #sing #share #laugh #think #live.
Sincerely,
