I’ve lived in San Francisco for 4 years and never once went to the Presidio. Much of that is because I’m a student and between school, work and sleep I barely have enough time to get down a packet of Ramen never mind take an afternoon off to go to the park. When my parents came up to help me move to a new apartment I was lost to where I should take them to show them the city. My mom loves picnics and I had heard that lands end was a beautiful place to picnic (if you can weather the wind). So with little planning I stuck my parents and I on the 18 bus towards legion of honor (a new experience for my LA native parents) and arrived at the beautiful Legion of Honor. We were taken back by the architecture and well maintained facilities. We weren’t so sure how to get to Lands End, and after wandering through the golf course and unintentionally seeing the sutro baths for the first time, we finally reached the peak. I then understood exactly why they call it Land’s End. Despite getting lost my parents and I had a blast, the Presidio is truly an oasis in the middle of the city. #SFSU
