Greetings from Yosemite National Park

Every year either in May or November we have been going to Yosemite. When I was much younger I camped with my family and watched the fire fall.

As I grew older I backpacked above Tuolumne Meadows with my girlfriend. After I met my husband, we went every year and stayed at Wowona and a real splurge, stayed at Awanee.

When my daughter was a baby I camped with her in Wowona Csmpgrounds but she tried to wiggle out of the sleeping bag. So had to splurge and buy a tent- a backpacking tent.

It lasted till my kids were in their 20’s.

How can I share all the wonderful sights and sounds and experiences with campers, hikers, and bears?

Every time I have been camping or backpacking bears have been around. No matter how good I got at treeing our food, mom’s bear would send up her cu comeback to knock down our food.

Finally Yosemite Valley added wire pulley’s to hang food sacks. Now you can just get a rolling canister to put food in and there are bear safe lockers in campgrounds.

I have never been camping in summer except tent camping in Curry Village with my Ski Club.

I have many Yosemite Bear stories but that would take a book.

Yosemite has the most marvelous waterfalls in spring!!!

Sincerely,
Sharon
