Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I first visited Yosemite as part of a 5th grade field trip. This past summer, I finally returned as part of an environmental research program. Together with eight other high school students and two mentors, we hiked 50+ miles over nine days, while carrying heavy backpacks. We traveled from one location to another, crossed freezing-cold streams at early dawn, saw breathtaking views of Cathedral and May Lakes, ate lunch at the tip of Clouds Rest, tested water quality, and at night, gazed at the stars while snuggled in our sleeping bags. I loved every moment I shared with my companions in the backcountry.

Thank you, Yosemite, for a wonderful time. I’ll be sure to return soon.

Sincerely,
Trent
