$5 Donation Given to NPCA for each Consumer Cellular Customer that Signs-up for Paperless Billing
PORTLAND, Ore. – Consumer Cellular, the number one rated cellphone service for the fourth consecutive year and exclusive wireless provider for AARP members, will continue its partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). Through its paperless billing campaign, implemented in 2011, Consumer Cellular has directly supported the NPCA’s mission to protect and enhance America’s national parks for the past four years.
“As an organization we are continually looking for ways to become even more eco-friendly,” said John Marick, CEO of Consumer Cellular. “It’s why we’ve been so thrilled with our paperless billing initiative – we’re able to partner with our customers to reduce our environmental impact while supporting NPCA in their work preserving America’s national parks.”
For every new and existing customer who enrolls in the paperless billing program, Consumer Cellular will donate $5 to the NPCA, pledging to donate up to $150,000. As of May 2014, Consumer Cellular has donated nearly $500,000 since the partnership began and reported that 90% of subscribers have switched to a paper saving billing method.
“NPCA is pleased that we are renewing our partnership with Consumer Cellular, which donates valuable dollars to our work to protect our national parks,” said Clark Bunting, NPCA’s CEO and President.
In addition to the paperless billing campaign, Consumer Cellular pursues a wide range of socially responsible and sustainable business practices designed to reduce its impact on the environment. This support of green initiatives won the company a spot among Oregon Business magazine’s 100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon in 2014.
