As Associate Director of Communications, Sheila Nguyen leads NPCA’s media and outreach efforts across all social media platforms.
After starting her career in the IT consulting world, Sheila took seven months off to do an overseas solo backpacking trip. This trip inspired a passion for responsible tourism and conservation, and launched her into the freelancing world doing photography, videography, and social media management. Realizing how social media and photography are powerful tools for advocacy and impact, Sheila joined NPCA in July 2018 as the organization’s new social media manager, and has since been working on the shared mission of protecting parks.
Sheila completed her undergraduate degrees at Virginia Tech, holding a B.S. in Business Information Technology and a B.S. in Psychology. She loves traveling, dancing, hiking, stargazing, baby animals, and eating international foods.
