Nicole has served as Director of Capital Investment and Implementation for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD), operator of the South Shore Line Railroad, since 2016. She currently also serves as Project Manager for NICTD’s $650 million Double Track Northwest Indiana Project, which spans over 26 miles of NICTD’s territory. Nicole also serves as Public Information Officer and leads Marketing efforts for NICTD.

Prior to NICTD, Nicole was the Executive Director of regional conservation nonprofit Save the Dunes. She served as a co-chair of the Healing Our Waters - Great Lakes coalition. She also spent over a decade working for the City of Chicago Department of Environment on the Calumet Initiative, a project that spanned Chicago’s southeast side and northwest Indiana.

Nicole holds a B.A. in Journalism with a Certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.A. in Geography & Environmental Studies from Northeastern Illinois University.
