Laura O’Brien is the Rappahannock County Conservation Field Representative for the Piedmont Environmental Council, a locally based nonprofit and land trust in the northern Piedmont region of Virginia.
Prior to joining PEC, Laura graduated from Ithaca College in 2021 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, and has worked for other environmental organizations such as Trout Unlimited, the Ithaca Children’s Garden, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. In her current role, Laura collaborates with a variety of partners and community members to conserve land and working farms, facilitate sustainable land management practices, improve public access opportunities, and restore trout habitat. Her favorite park is Shenandoah National Park, which she enjoys exploring with her partner and their dog, Disco.
