Kai Tran (he/him) is a graduate student at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment pursuing a Master of Environment Management with concentrations in Community Engagement & Environmental Justice and Terrestrial & Freshwater Environments. Before moving to Durham, NC, Kai earned a B.S. in Environmental Management & Protection from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Outside of his studies, Kai has gained various professional experiences and engagements. Currently, Kai serves as a Youth Leadership Councilmember with EarthEcho International, an ocean-based nonprofit that elevates youth voices in conservation. Kai’s past experiences have included working in environmental philanthropy, environmental justice & advocacy, wildfire resiliency, and ocean conservation. In his free time, Kai enjoys hiking, exploring cities in the South, and playing tennis or ping pong.
