Jennifer co-produces NPCA's podcast, The Secret Lives of Parks, and writes and edits a wide variety of online content. She has won multiple awards for her audio storytelling.
Jennifer launched NPCA’s Park Advocate blog in 2012 and co-created the podcast The Secret Lives of Parks in 2021. She has more than 20 years of professional experience in writing, editing and graphic design and has managed a broad range of content for values-driven organizations, from research papers to annual reports to multimedia storytelling.
Jennifer won a Gold award from the North American Travel Journalists Association for her 2022 podcast story, “Telling the Truth,” on the work to create a national park site honoring Emmet Till and Mamie Till-Mobley. She also won a Silver award from the association for her 2022 podcast story, “An American Hero Turns 200,” on the legacy of Harriet Tubman, and a Bronze award for her 2023 story, “Hope Along the Cuyahoga,” on river restoration efforts at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. The Secret Lives of Parks podcast has also won several Eddie awards, including Best Educational Podcast (2023) and Best Travel and Leisure Podcast (2023).
Jennifer takes pride in managing NPCA’s style guide and will drop everything she is doing at a moment’s notice to address persnickety questions on punctuation and grammar.
