Erin Hackenmueller is a storyteller, an outdoor recreation enthusiast, a history fanatic, and a community leader.

She supports the development of communities across Alabama. Erin is the Communications Specialist for Cawaco Resource Conservation and Development Council, a nonprofit that fosters vibrant communities by balancing economic, human, and natural needs. She is also the Program Director for Your Town Alabama, which educates and inspires communities to use asset-based design for setting and achieving goals. Previously, she was the Branding & Communications Development Manager for The University of Alabama Center for Economic Development, aiding communities in economic growth through asset-based planning. Erin believes that environmental preservation is one of the most pressing issues of her generation and wants to make a difference. She can often be found hiking, reading historic markers, or identifying plants. She loves traveling and exploring the outdoors and is passionate about environmental justice and preserving natural public spaces.
