Greetings from Acadia National Park

This is at Acadia National Park. We visited this National Park for our honeymoon and it was the most special atmosphere. The sheer beauty along with the wildlife habitats that were protected is what makes this park so special. When we visited there were even handicap accessible adaptaions so everyone can enjoy the area. This is very special to me because my mom suffered a stroke last year but she is not limited to what she can see because of the care and love that the NPS provides to the American people along with the respect for the area.

Three generations of my family have worked for The Department of the Interior - one of them being my Grandpa. He was a Park Ranger for many sites. Unfortunately he passed away when my dad was 7 and I never got to meet him. My ultimate goal is to visit all the parks he worked at and loved and I hope that I get to pass that love for these areas down to all the new generations coming up. National Parks are so important to me that I try to teach others around me about them - just yesterday I presented this slide show to my colleagues to inspire them to visit national parks and teach them what we can do to ensure these lands stay protected for future generations to come:

Sincerely,
Courtney Zillmann

With 45 miles of historic carriage roads to bike and 125 miles of trails to hike, Acadia is a premier destination for the adventurous and outdoorsy. Among the park’s granite peaks is Cadillac Mountain, which at 1,530 feet stands as the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast.

“How could you not support parks - it is where one can explore and learn about the surroundings, habitats, history, and how we can respect and share that love with future generations to come so that they get the same opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the same land we do today. ”
