My hands started to sweat as the car stopped moving. Six high school campers, including me, piled out of our field guide’s car one-by-one and ran to the ice cream shop that had closed 30 minutes prior to our unplanned night out. It was nearly 11:00 pm and although we never got any ice cream that night, the serene and misty view of Lake McDonald was definitely worth the short trip to town. We all sat together on the wooden dock, staring at the misty mountains. It was at that moment we all realized that the beauty of Glacier National Park was worth more than ice cream or campfire s'mores.
Sincerely,
