We try to visit at least one park each year. It is one of our favorite things to do. It was brought home to me very clearly this summer while visiting our son’s family in Portland, Or. when we attended a neighborhood 4th of July party. While talking with one of them the conversation came around to our travels and I mentioned the parks. She is definitely one of those who does not realize how much funding has been cut. I informed her of the truth of the matter and suggested if she was going to donate to please support the NPCA or National Park Foundation as the money is so badly needed.
We live in Arizona and have visited the Grand Canyon so many times I cannot tell you how many. BUT each and every time there is something new to see. It is truly a “Wonder of the World” and our parks are truly “America’s Best Idea”!!!!
Sincerely,
Grand Canyon National Park
America’s Southwest is full of breathtaking canyons, but none as famous or as widely visited as the Grand Canyon. This world-famous landmark offers wondrous views, spectacular hiking, exhilarating whitewater rafting and countless adventures. One look across the enormous chasm confirms just why this inspirational place is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a must-see destination for so many travelers. The park also protects a wealth of biological diversity, including numerous endemic and threatened species and several rare ecosystems.
