Greetings from Grand Canyon National Park

I have wonderful memories of rafting through the Grand Canyon on a Smithsonian trip. Sleeping under the stars, watching sunsets and sunrises againts the walls of the canyon. Exploring areas on hikes at various stops. The big open “cave”. I also was lucky to go on a winter ski vacation at the North rim. Our National Parks should be treasured, and not looked at as space to be used for commercial interests.

Grand Canyon National Park

The park also protects a wealth of biological diversity, including numerous endemic and threatened species and several rare ecosystems.
