I am an Arizona native and have taught my entire career at the same school/community for the last 18 years in Phoenix. I teach fourth grade and have taught a unit on Arizona National Parks to increase understanding and awareness of our parks. I recently had a field trip to Saguaro National Park approved! I surprised my class with a gift under our Christmas tree, and inside the box was the approval letter for our field trip before winter break. It was the best gift I have ever given my scholars! Every child deserves a trip to a National Park; this is the generation that will keep it thriving.
Sincerely,
Saguaro National Park
It’s the iconic image of the American Southwest: The giant saguaro cactus, standing tall amid the arid desert, arms perpetually raised to the sky. At Saguaro National Park, you can see more than 1.6 million of these giant saguaro — the largest forest of its kind on the planet.

“I am a fourth grade educator and National Parks enthusiast! My goal is to visit all 63 parks and I have 16 left. I want to share my love of the parks with my scholars and inspire them to visit and fall in love with the parks the way I did when I visited MY first park, The Grand Canyon, when I was a fourth grader.”
