Greetings from Theodore Roosevelt National Park

My first degree was in history, but it was unfortunately a case of “really good at Jeopardy – can’t get a decent job”; so I went back to school for accounting. In the fall of 1999, I still needed to pass one section of the CPA exam. I quit my job to focus on that last test and listened to CPA study tapes as I drove all over the US – camping and hiking in National Parks. It wasn’t as awful as it sounds because when the tapes made me sleepy (every half hour or so, because you know… accounting : ) I’d reward myself with a short hike, or a nap in my car.

The visit to the park named after TR felt like a great way to pay tribute to his sense of adventure and the way he liked to challenge himself.

Theodore Roosevelt

Sincerely,
Tracy
