I was fortunate to participate in the Parks and Tech event hosted by CivicMakers and the Pew Charitable Trust in Feb 2018. Since then, I’ve been revitalized in helping share the story of why are parks matter and what we need to do to ensure their bounty and beauty is passed onto future generations.
I started a podcast recently on hiking and the outdoors, called Broken Laces: A Hiker’s Podcast. On it, I’ve interviewed several friends from that event including former Deputy Superintendent of Yellowstone NP, Steve Iobst. He details the challenges our parks face.
I would love for you to take a listen on your favorite podcast provider.
Sincerely,
Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
State(s): Idaho Montana, Wyoming,
Established: 1872
