In my younger days during summer break from school myself and my friend would paint a couple houses to make some money and then hit the road! We’d for some reason always end up in Colorado or New Mexico or Utah canyon country.I remember seeing Mesa Verde for the first time and was just in awe! Building communities throughout the southwest then disappearing, what a mystery! I remember going to the park store and I found this book, desert solitaire, by this guy named Ed Abbey! Bought it and couldn’t put it down, ever since then I been a defender of the parks and wilderness! I still have a couple Nat. Parks to go and can’t wait to finish my list
Sincerely,
Mesa Verde National Park
This World Heritage Site preserves more than 600 cliff dwellings typical of the Ancestral Puebloan culture, which lasted from about 450 to 1300. The allure of this park is not only the remarkable ruins, but also the mystery of the people who inhabited them.
