I have not visited a national park since I visited Glacier National Park in my 20s. I am now 69. I consider the national park system to be an important resource both for those who regularly visit them and for those of us who rarely visit but for whom the knowledge of their existence - a place where wildness is preserved - is crucial to our sense of well being.
