My first experience with Acadia – September 2012. We camped at Blackwoods. By the time we set up the RV, settled in and ate supper it was dark. My sister said we had to go to “The Rocks” I wasn’t too sure about rocks in the dark, but trusted and walked along. We finally crossed Loop Rd and started down trail to rocks. I was skeptical until we reached the top of cliffs. The Atlantic opened up in front of me. The moon was full, it was straight ahead. A huge white ball with a highway of light glittering off the water!! I was awestruck. I get goose bumps remembering it. The days past, Great Head Trail, Sand Beach, Sommes Sound, Cadillac, Sea Wall, Schoodic, Bar Harbor…. Each place more incredible!! I shall return as often as I can. Will never see it all and will always want more!! It’s timeless.
Sincerely,
Acadia National Park
