The Everglades is located at the very southern tip of Florida and it captured my heart in the 1970s when I visited in the winter. The weather was moderately warm throughout the day and the display of wading birds and alligators was like nothing I had ever seen. In 1979 I moved to Florida and I now live about 90 minutes from Flamingo. I look forward to visiting the park every winter when the birds are abundant, the gators are gathered along Anhinga Trail and the crocodiles are loafing at Flamingo. There may not be tall mountains or waterfalls at this place, but it has a beauty all its own. There is no other Everglades.
Sincerely,
Everglades National Park
