National Parks have been a major part of my life since 1977. When I worked full-time I always took 2 week vacations and spent them at different national parks. Five years ago I revisited Yellowstone National Park and fell in love with it. I now go there twice a year for 2 weeks stays and it is never boring. Always a geyser eruption to experience, a new trail to hike or a new behavior by the wildlife in the park. My photo shows Castle Geyser erupting. It is one of the predictable geysers and one of the most photogenic geysers, though seldom featured in the guidebooks. And it is easily accessible - just a short hike from Old Faithful Inn! This park is a treasure which must be protected, along with our other National Parks.
Sincerely,
Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
