I worked at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone in 1967 cleaning cabins, avoiding bears and moose. The interesting people, the astounding natural wonders and experiences still linger with me today. The night of the grizzlies happened that summer, Reagan came through as governor of California, the hippies were in San Francisco. I have returned to Yellowstone with my family to find Bison that I never saw in ‘67. I have been able to visit many awe inspiring parks, but because of that summer, Yellowstone will be forever my favorite.
Sincerely,
Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
