I have always been a fan of the great Ansel Adams–loving his images of our national parks. My favorite image is his shot of The Tetons and the Snake River, a print of which hangs on my living room wall. For years I wanted to raft along the Snake River and experience the Tetons from the perspective of Ansel Adams, and in 2015, my husband and I were able to make this dream come true. What an incredible moment it was to turn a bend in the river and come face to the face with the majesty of Grand Teton! It touched my heart so profoundly that it is chemically imprinted on my brain, never to be forgotten. It is a moment that lives within me now and always.
My gratitude for our wonderful National Park System. I hope to continue exploring them for as long as I can still walk!
Sincerely,
Grand Teton National Park
This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.

“I want my grandchildren and their children to continue to enjoy the majesty of Nature as presented in our National Parks. These parks are a living legacy to future generations and should be preserved with care.”
