I grew up in Livingston, MT, just 64 miles south of there. Yellowstone has always been one of my favorite places to visit, and still is. It never gets old, but I have, and it is difficult to go as often as I would like.
My family, children, grandchildren and myself have had the privilege of going there many times over the years, and always come away with a request of "When can we go back again?" I live in Maryland now, and have been a constant travel advisor for those who have never had the opportunity to experience Yellowstone. If you have never been, please put it the top of your list of places to go. You will never regret it!
Sincerely,
Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
State(s): Idaho Montana, Wyoming,
Established: 1872
“They are special places in this world, and the parks we have in the U.S. are resources that must not be forgotten, or misused. They need support, both from individuals and the government, because we can't afford to lose them.”
