My husband and I have been visiting National Parks for the last 16 years. In 2013, we visited Glacier National Park. Our first morning waking up in the park, we left our cabin and walked down to Fishercap Lake. To my utter amazement, two female moose were feeding, drinking, and swimming close to the bank! Despite traveling all over “moose country” in Maine, Wyoming, Michigan, etc., I had never seen a moose until this moment. We could hear them breathing, chewing leaves, and the water dripping off their backs. It was my “National Geographic” moment. The photographic opportunities were incredible and I didn’t think it could possibly get any better. Then one moose crossed to the far side of the lake and lo and behold, a baby was waiting in the bushes! They stood together and fed on low aspen branches. With misty fog on the water and the towering mountain peaks behind it, the whole scene seemed unreal. It was definitely one of the most unforgettable moments exploring the National Parks System.
Sincerely,
Glacier National Park
