Greetings from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

My husband Mark and I wanted to go on a vacation that was close and inexpensive. So we chose Great Smoky National Park for our spring vacation. We had such a wonderful time here. We went on many drives through the park, mainly because our son is disabled so we knew that we could only do small adventures and the park suited our family well. We stopped at streams and small cascades that were right by the river and looked at beautiful vistas. Because our son could not do the paths to the falls we went one at a time. We loved it so much that we went again on our way to Nags Head this time we took our college age daughter and boyfriend along with us. I was very happy to share what we saw with them. They drove separately and we saw them taking pictures at the same vistas we looked at the year before. The Smokies will always bring fond memories for me and someday I know we will be back.

Sincerely,
Nancy

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the country's most popular national park sites. It offers postcard-perfect views and plentiful wildlife.

State(s): North Carolina Tennessee,

Established: 1926

“I support the parks because it's our treasure -- it's ours to share with the world. I have been to the Rockies and to Yosemite as well, and every time I go to a national park I'm overwhelmed by their beauty. I know that nature balances us, takes away our concerns just for a while, and makes that time in place perfect. I could not even try to think of a world without mountains and rivers and valleys and our heritage is rooted in theses parks as well.”
