Being able to spend time in such magnificent such as Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks has been a great gift for me.
I am incredibly frustrated and saddened by our government today. Treating its citizens and guests as expendable in their parlor games. I wish I could go to the park and breath the cedar scented air.
I believe, when we name ourselves: When we share our stories about why we care, we are reminded that even when we feel victim to our circumstances, we are not as alone as we can often feel. I was feeling very alone and dis-empowered by the government shutdown. After all what can one lady from Montana do? Then I realized I could tell my story and encourage others to do the same.
I am Renee Frances Conn, fourth generation Montanan who grew up on a cattle ranch. I am an artist and a healer and I care about the fate of humanity, our planet and the choices my community and country makes with or without my consent. I have been blessed to share in the beauty and bounty of the national parks of the USA and I am proud to help support access to these awe-inspiring places
It makes me sad to realize how seemingly expendable my fellow Americans are to our government. Yet, Thanks to social media, we have the power to share our stories despite the failings of my government my voice does have to be discounted.
I hope you will join me in telling your own National Park Story.
Sincerely,
Renee Frances Conn
P.S. I live in Whitefish, Montana which is about 40 minutes from Glacier National Park, an amazing place to hike, by the way. If you’ve never been I highly recommend :-)
Sincerely,
Glacier National Park
