After leaving the van at the base of the trail gate at the Glacier National Park, I was met with a swarm of mosquitos eagerly waiting for their next meal. I hastily put on my jacket and applied the mosquito repellant I brought with me from the San Francisco Bay Area. When I finally hiked passed the gate at the base and slowly ascended the lush mountain filled with beautiful flowers, trees, and huckleberry bushes ravaged by the bears, I just knew I had to take as many pictures as I can to capture this incredible moment.
When I finally arrived at the peak of the mountain. I was filled with excitement as my eyes stumbled upon a fire lookout tower. I had dreamt of visiting a fire lookout tower for many years, as the idea and history behind it had always fascinated me. Being able to realize that dream and seeing the tower first-hand as a high school student made the entire trip to Glacier National Park worth it.
I will always remember my trip to the Crown of the Continent with lots of pictures and fond memories. I hope to go back to the park very soon to visit the many parts of it I never got to see.
Sincerely,
Glacier National Park
