As a newcomer to Yosemite, I had already heard all the tales of the beauty of the national park as well as of the interesting specimens that could be found there, yet my eyes were not prepared for the sight that awaited me there. Nature in all its glory awaited me here, with marmots weaving about in the intricate rocks of the mountain, the Lodgepole Pine extending its branches several feet into the air, and the Golden Eagle stretching and massaging its wings as it dives from the sky. As I stayed in Yosemite, my fascination and immersion with the park and its flora and fauna only grew, and I would record all the species I observed in my journal, sketching them and observing their general mannerisms and how they contributed to the amazing biodiversity at Yosemite. Because of this quick love of nature, I quickly grew accustomed to the principles of Leave No Trace and made sure my group kept after themselves in order to preserve the land as it is for other backpackers and visitors to enjoy. After my experience here, I hope to visit as many National Parks as possible and not only leave no trace but to make it better for other visitors to enjoy.
Sincerely,
Yosemite National Park
