In the fall of 1999, I had one section of the CPA exam left to take (my second career – turns out my Dad was correct – history wasn’t as marketable as I thought it would be : ). The test wasn’t until November but I decided to quit my job anyway, so I could focus on studying. I did this by listening to accounting tapes as I took a road trip – camping and visiting baseball and National parks. I drove from OH to Toronto, Montreal and Niagara Falls before I arrived for three nights of camping at Acadia. I was a tad early for peak leaf season but it was still spectacular and I’m hoping to go back again with my longtime partner, Keith.
Sincerely,
Acadia National Park
Along the rugged coastline of Maine, this gem of the Northeast offers ocean shoreline, coastal forests, remote islands, rocky mountains and historic lighthouses. With 45 miles of historic carriage roads to bike and 125 miles of trails to hike, Acadia is a premier destination for the adventurous and outdoorsy. Among the park’s granite peaks is Cadillac Mountain, which at 1,530 feet stands as the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast.
