We went to Yellowstone for the first time in 1989. There was so much blackness and blank spaces from the 1988 fire. We were shocked to see all the damage and wondered if it would ever look again like the beautiful pictures we had admired for so many years as we saved for a future visit to Wyoming from Ohio. Since then we have made 17 trips back to this paradise and are happy each time to see the regrowth and filled in spaces. Just like these birds, we hope to return “home” to Yellwstone for many years to come!
Sincerely,
Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
