In the spring of 2012, I had a terrible cough that was so strong it would wake me up from a sound sleep. Anything that made me draw a large breath (singing, laughing, even pushing a heavy door open) would set it off. Doctors had me on all sorts of antibiotics and steroids and X-rays and they couldn’t figure out what was going on with it. Meanwhile, the days were counting down until our trip to the Pacific Northwest and I was upset at the idea that I could be ill during it. I was still coughing the day we got our flight to San Francisco. But after our first day in Yosemite, the cough was gone…and it never came back. It was perhaps the most powerful experience of my life. I don’t really know what exactly happened, but I know what to think - Yosemite National Park.
Sincerely,
