Clean Air Hearing in California

The Trump administration is proposing to undo the national air pollution rules, called CAFE standards, that were on track to make future passenger cars and light trucks cleaner and more fuel efficient then ever. Join us in Fresno on September 24 to demand clean air in parks.

There is also a move to revoke a fuel efficiency waiver that allowed California, alongside 13 states and Washington, D.C., to adopt even higher fuel standards to protect public health and meet state pollution reduction goals.

There is only ONE public hearing for this rule on the entire West Coast. It will be in Fresno, CA on September 24th and we need you there to speak up for clean air in parks.

Don’t wait! Register to provide oral testimony at the hearing with NPCA’s with Mark Rose today. He can also provide help with drafting your statement.

If the Trump administration gets to finalize these repeals through its so-called “SAFE” vehicle rule, it will lead to more air and climate pollution from cars worsening air quality across California and in our national parks. This proposed rule could also make it much harder for states like California to meet health standards for harmful air pollution like ozone and fine particulate matter. This is bad news for national parks like Yosemite, Sequoia, and Joshua Tree, which are three of the dirtiest parks in the nation for air quality and already struggle immensely from climate change.
