Working with NHL’s Florida Panthers on Conservation Night March 10

The National Parks Conservation Association is proud to join the NHL’s Florida Panthers hockey team to raise awareness and create protections for the Florida panther, a critically-endangered species found only in South Florida.

The NHL’s Florida Panthers have one thing in common with real Florida panthers: they’re both on thin ice.

The Panthers hockey team will host Florida Panther Conservation Night on March 10 during their home game against the Minnesota Wild. Click HERE to purchase a ticket to the game on March 10 and a portion of all proceeds will go towards Panther conservation efforts and NPCA. Please use promo code: pantherconservation.

During the game, fans can learn more about the endangered Panther and how they can raise awareness throughout the game. Panther conservationists will also be available to answer questions and provide ways that fans can give back to saving the Florida Panther.

NCPA has worked for decades to protect Florida panther habitat in Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park. We are currently involved in litigation against the National Park Service for their failure to adequately provide protections for Florida panthers from a major oil and gas development project proposed inside Big Cypress National Preserve. For years we have advocated to get proper funding for the restoration of the Everglades and Big Cypress, and for improvements for water flow, such as raising the Tamiami Trail, that would ultimately make these parks a better place for panthers. We’ve also worked to ensure that off-road vehicle use and hunting activities are appropriately managed and are compatible with protecting the Florida panther.

NPCA is proud to join the Florida Panthers Foundation on Panther Conservation Night, which also includes: Andrew Hill Investment Advisors Inc., Florida International University, Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge, National Park Service, Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society, U.S Fish & Wildlife Service, Fish & Wildlife Conservation, and Zoo Miami.
