Webinar: The Oregon Caves Chateau is at Risk

The future of Oregon Caves Chateau, one of the National Park System’s “Great Lodges,” is at a crossroads – and could be lost forever. Join NPCA and partners to learn more about this national park icon, and how you can help save it.

The 1934 Chateau is nestled within Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve. Unique among its peer Great Lodges, it is the only lodge with its original furniture. Its rustic charm has drawn guests from all over the world for nearly a century. Visitors to the park and hotel are also crucial to the economic health of nearby Cave Junction.

The Chateau closed in 2018 for accessibility upgrades, where the National Park Service uncovered significant seismic and structural stabilization needs well beyond the scope and cost of the accessibility project. Park Service leaders must move quickly to preserve the building to protect the building from additional damage, until additional funds can be secured to complete the structural work.

Please join this informative webinar to learn about the history of the Chateau, its importance to Southern Oregon communities, and how you can help save it. The program is 30-minutes with time for question and answer after.
